Overview
We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar (PAR), internally referred to as our Patient Registration Representative or Patient Access Representative, in the Admitting Department. The Patient Account Registrar (PAR) interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable Work closely with all facets of the Admitting Department, including PBX operator function and reception areas Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data Able to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics Maintain proficiency in medical terminology Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe We are looking for a person with a positive attitude who has compassion and empathy for others Willingness to learn and be ambitious and successful in your role Qualifications
Education and Training Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: High school graduate or GED equivalent Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines Analytical and problem-solving skills Customer service experience Must be able to type Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus: Insurance knowledge Full benefits at Prime Healthcare: #LI-MP1 Employment Status
