: Penske Truck Leasing is looking for enthusiastic and qualified individuals to join our team as part-time Truck Drivers in the unique role of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the delivery and return of vehicles to both Penske locations and our valued customers. This position involves driving our box trucks (up to 26 feet) and, for those holding a CDL Class A, the operation of tractors and trailers. You may also assist the service department with the delivery of parts and equipment. As a casual/on-call part-time driver, this flexible job provides the opportunity for licensed CDL Class B or Class A drivers to earn supplemental income, working between 0 to 25 hours a week depending on business needs. The position will be based at our facility located at 436 Riverside Avenue in Medford, MA. Major Responsibilities: Adhere to safety protocols while operating vehicles to deliver them to specified locations. Inspect vehicles to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in proper working condition; report any issues to the location manager. Collect receipts or signatures for delivered goods and handle payment collections when necessary. Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages promptly. Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of driving experience is required. A clean DMV motor vehicle record for the past 2 years is required. CDL Class B license is mandatory; CDL Class A is preferred. Ability to read and follow written instructions. Must demonstrate independence, customer service skills, and a positive attitude. Reliable attendance is an essential function of this role. This position is regulated by the DOT and requires maintenance of a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR checks and a successful DOT Physical. CDL holders must complete a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of starting and are subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review. Willingness to travel as necessary and work per the required schedule. Must complete the Penske employment application and submit to a background check and drug screening. This role is designated as safety-sensitive, requiring an alert and safe work demeanor.
