Engage customers with open-ended questions and active listening to better understand their needs. Provide in-depth product knowledge and use suggestive selling to enhance the boating experience. Assist customers in selecting products and guide them to the correct aisle. Inform customers about our services and help with special orders or drop ship purchases. Process cash, credit, and account transactions accurately, including returns and register management. Ensure accurate pricing by auditing and tagging merchandise for effective display and signage. Assist with inventory management tasks like receiving, stocking, and replenishing merchandise. Keep the sales floor organized and clean, removing any hazards for customer safety. Support the buy online, pick up in store (BOPIS) process and assist with online orders as needed. Report potential security or loss prevention issues to management and help maintain asset protection standards. Complete all required training and familiarize yourself with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to listen actively and respond effectively to customer needs. Proven sales and customer service experience. Familiarity with retail merchandise. Experience with point-of-sale systems; quick learner of new technologies. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in boating and/or retail preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the retail space. Comfortable wearing and communicating through a headset frequently. Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, and twisting may be required. Occasional operation of equipment, including forklifts. Must lift up to 50 pounds unassisted frequently.
