About the Role:

Title: Retail Sales Associate Type: Part-Time - up to 20 hours per week Classification: Non-Exempt / Hourly

Summary of Position:

The Retail Sales Associate will deliver exceptional customer service, provide product expertise, and drive sales while supporting a smooth shopping experience. Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated.

Responsibilities: Welcoming customers with a friendly demeanor, offering product information, and assisting them in finding items. Understanding and promoting current sales, promotions, and new products to enhance the customer experience and drive sales. Maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring product areas meet merchandising standards. Answering customer inquiries regarding products, store policies, and services, providing knowledgeable and helpful responses to enhance satisfaction. Operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing payments, handling returns, and managing customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Assisting in inventory management tasks, including receiving shipments, conducting stock counts, and reporting low stock or product discrepancies to management. Supporting loss prevention efforts by monitoring the sales floor, reporting suspicious activity, and following security policies. Collaborating with fellow team members to achieve sales targets, meet store goals, and contribute to a positive team environment. Reporting to the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, ensuring that daily tasks align with store goals and standards. Preferred Qualifications: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members. Ability to work a flexible schedule Basic math skills for handling cash and managing sales transactions accurately. An interest in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts to better connect with our customers. Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service. Familiarity with POS systems and other retail technology. Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, in alignment with the physical demands of retail work. A high school diploma or equivalent. Physical Demands: Sitting - 25% daily Standing or walking - 75% daily (may require more infrequently) Visual acuity (20/40 - correctable by glasses/contacts) Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 lbs. with assistance Talking and Hearing
