Cook at Our Lady of Rickenbach Health Care Revised 09/24 This position will be for evenings, 2pm to 7pm Sister Administrator and Human Resources Job Summary: Prepares meals according to meal plan for sister residents of Our Lady of Rickenbach Health Care Center. As with all jobs at OLR the Cook will be required to work every other weekend and alternating holidays. Essential Functions: ·        Prepares special diets for special needs: pureed, diabetic, renal, low sodium, and other medically specified diets. ·        Keeps Lead Cook informed of groceries and supplies needed ·        Prepares and serves meals to appropriate dining areas in a timely manner and attractive presentation ·        Demonstrates good stewardship in the responsible use of food stuff and creative use of leftovers. ·        Keeps dietary area clean and sanitary. Maintains kitchen equipment in clean and working order, reporting any problems to the Dietary Lead Cook. ·        Adapts to special occasions by preparing special meals and activity snacks when needed. ·        Assists with other duties as requested by Administrator or Lead Cook Requirements: ·        Able to stand for long hours, frequent bending, stooping ·        Prefer some knowledge of food preparation ·        Able to lift 25-50 lbs. without restrictions. ·        Able to adapt to emergencies or changes in day-to-day plan ·        Able to take instructions from lead dietary cook, sister administrator and human resources ·        Good time management skills ·        Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
