We are seeking a Part -time Food Service Assistant who is responsible for performing duties in all aspects of the food service and Coffee Shop operations, including food preparation, cashiering, catering, and following specific food service policies and procedures to ensure customer and employee safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide proper and safe set-up and storage of serving products. Provide a clean work area including eating utensils, dishware, prep and cooking utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. Provide cashiering and other retail services as assigned. Prepare cold salads for deli and grill use; Slice and carve meats, cheeses, and produce, and garnish as needed for station set up. Must have and maintain a current Missouri Driver's License. Prepare and stock food products at service station per menu specifications. May assist other chefs, cooks, and pastry bakers. As needed and assigned, shall perform duties such as: a wide range of food preparation; weigh and measure recipe ingredients; make salads and sandwiches; help prepare soups and sauces; clean, peel, and slice fruits and vegetables; prepare coffee; and slice and grind meat, poultry and seafood. Greet customers, prepare and serve food items per customer order and food service specifications. Break down and clean workstation at end of shift and store food products properly. Prepare coffee shop beverages consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Assist with catering services as needed. MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS Ability to observe all aspects of proper food service, health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products. Must be able to operate basic kitchen preparations tools, including knives, peelers, slicer, oven, steamer, fryer, steam kettle, tilt braiser, and related food preparations appliances and dish washing machine. High school diploma or GED required Minimum one year experience or training in cold food preparation, basic kitchen work, with a knowledge of food service cleanliness and sanitation standards. Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of cooking techniques, cook-and-hold and cook-and-chill techniques, display cooking, and catering set-up and service.
