Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments for the Nursing Assistant program at the Sylvania Campus. Candidates will be considered for providing instruction in lecture/lab and clinical settings.

This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. The Clinical Instructor scope of work:

Supervises, instructs, and evaluates nursing assistant students in a clinical setting. An instructor is assigned to a clinical site for 2 days or evenings a week/term. The instructor will supervise between 4 to 6 students at one time. Primary communication will be with the director of the Nursing Assistant program.

The Lecture/Lab Instructor scope of work:

Instructs and evaluates nursing assistant students in the lab setting. Primary communication will be with the director of the Nursing Assistant program.

Instructor Qualifications There are two categories of instructors to be considered for hire:

1) Primary instructor: Faculty serving as a primary instructor must: ● Hold a current Oregon RN license ● Have at least two years’ experience as an RN; and ● Have evidence of completion of a course on teaching adults, or one year of experience teaching adults

2) Clinical Instructors and Instructors for Lecture/Lab: Faculty serving as an approved clinical teaching associate and/or lecture/lab instructor must: ● Hold a current Oregon RN or LPN license; and ●Have the equivalent of at least one year of experience as a licensed nurse

Part-time Faculty Compensation at PCC Newly hired Part-time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determine based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).

Notice of the Availability of the Annual Security Report Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), you may view Portland Community College’s (PCC) most recent Annual Security Report (ASR) on the Department of Public Safety website. The ASR contains current security and safety-related policy disclosure statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information and resources, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains crime statistics for Clery Act crimes which occurred on PCC properties for the last three calendar years.
