General Summary Responsible for providing legal support services within the Legal Department of a publicly traded company and coordinating the efficient, high-quality delivery of legal services. Requires exceptional reading and writing skills; strong computer and word processing proficiency; excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail; familiarity with legal issues and concepts; and a commitment to developing a comprehensive understanding of Company policies and procedures. Must be able to manage multiple assignments, set priorities effectively, and excel in a fast-paced environment. Success in this role also demands the highest levels of ethics, professionalism, and discretion in working with senior internal and external stakeholders on highly sensitive, confidential matters. Essential Job Functions Prepare first drafts of leases, amendments, and other legal documents related to leasing activities; revise drafts during negotiations; finalize documents for execution and facilitate the execution process. Prepare, review, and revise agreements as assigned, including consents, commission and listing agreements, and other tenant-related documents. Abstract leases and review abstracts prepared by others; perform lease administration duties, including ensuring compliance with lease audit standards. Assist with litigation discovery management, litigation tracking, litigation file management, and litigation-related documents. Track tenant claims and assist with drafting notices, correspondence, and other communications. Assist with management of company associations, including annual compliance efforts and preparation of minutes and resolutions as needed. Maintain familiarity with all Company forms, policies, and procedures, and assist the team in identifying appropriate documents for use. Review and research leases and other contracts to clarify interpretation issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent Word skills. Excellent reading, writing, editing and communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate and appropriate documentation. Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling. Highly organized, detail-oriented and ability to juggle multiple assignments. Paralegal certificate or college degree required. Willingness to obtain paralegal certificate or other legal training as necessary. Ability to learn automated document creation system and willingness to assist with increased automation of documents. Related experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills required. Physical Requirements Work requires occasionally lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Work requires occasionally stooping and bending. Work requires sitting for extended periods of time when working with computer system. Work requires occasionally reaching and grasping with arms and hands.
