POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Operations oversees the operational management of Stabbert Maritime's offshore DP2 fleet, ensuring efficient, compliant, and safe operations. This position directly oversees Vessel Managers, Operation Coordinators and provides leadership across operational and regulatory domains. The Ops Manager ensures that day-to-day operations align with the company's strategic goals (freeing the VP to focus on high-level leadership and business development.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees Vessel Managers:
Provide direct oversight of Vessel Managers, ensuring they effectively manage assigned vessels, including crew, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction. Act as an escalation point for complex operational issues that require higher-level intervention. Monitor Vessel Managers' performance through regular feedback, monthly reports, and structured evaluations. Coordinate Cross-Functional Teams: Facilitate collaboration between Vessel Managers and supporting departments (e.g., Technical Services (Port Engineers), Operations Coordinators, HR, HSE, and Purchasing) to ensure cohesive and efficient operations. Ensure that all team members maintain strong working relationships with the Vessel crew. Operational Excellence: Oversee the implementation of operational best practices to enhance vessel safety, reliability, and efficiency. Ensure all vessels meet regulatory and charter requirements, supporting Vessel Managers in addressing any compliance gaps. Drive the development of pre-project Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments, and other safety protocols in coordination with HSE. Regularly review operational and financial performance, including budget-to-actual reporting, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure Vessel Managers maintain high levels of client satisfaction by monitoring performance against charter contracts and addressing customer feedback. Represented the company at high-level client meetings, supporting vessel managers as needed. Oversee the alignment of vessel operations with customer requirements and contractual obligations. Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the VP of Operations to set and achieve strategic goals, including growth and diversification of services. Lead the adoption of new technologies and systems to enhance operational capabilities as appropriate. Ensure alignment between daily operations and long-term company objectives, including regulatory readiness for new market opportunities. Regulatory and Safety Compliance: Work closely with Vessel Managers to track and ensure compliance with all flag state, SOLAS, IMO, USCG, and environmental regulations. Support the HSE team in developing and maintaining programs that reflect the company's size and risk profile. Participate in incident investigations and implement preventative measures as required. Alignment with Vessel Managers' Responsibilities to ensure the Vessel Managers are: Effectively manage vessel operations, crew, and logistics. Maintain strong relationships with Captains and Senior Officers. Deliver accurate and timely reports on vessel conditions, performance, and budgets. Address regulatory compliance and safety standards. Provide leadership in client interactions and uphold customer satisfaction. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including Vessel Managers, Port Engineers, and operational support staff. Strong knowledge of vessel operations, including technical, regulatory, and budget management. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills to maintain cohesive team dynamics and client relationships. Financial acumen to analyze operating budgets, track vessel costs, and recommend optimizations. Familiarity with maritime software platforms. Collaborative yet decisive, with the ability to delegate effectively while maintaining oversight. Skilled at mentoring and developing high-performing teams to meet organizational objectives. Focused on proactive problem-solving and risk mitigation to ensure operational continuity. Requirements Experience: 10+ years in maritime operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing vessel operations or similar teams. Education: Bachelor's degree in Maritime Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered. Certifications: Deep understanding of DP2 operations, ISM Code, HSE protocols, and regulatory requirements. Passport and valid driver's license
