No Pay Information $15.00 Pay Schedule Hourly FLSA Designation Non-Exempt Position Summary This is an administrative position in Parking and Transit Services and is a public-facing primary contact for customer service.
This position is responsible for handling financial transactions for permit sales and fee collection for faculty, staff, students, and visitors parking on campus. Tasks associated with this involve customer interaction, phone and email communication, data entry, cash drawer and POS sales, reconciliation, filing, and reports.
This position serves as a resource for parking and transit information to the public, to departments, staff, and students within the university system, and to parking field staff. Knowledge bases for accomplishing this task include permit pricing and lot restrictions, parking regulations, the waiver and appeals processes, website and online forms, alternative and sustainable transportation options, and ADA accommodation.
Skills necessary to perform this job include literacy, computer experience, cash handling experience, customer service skills, and conflict resolution skills. Job Duties Responsibility Area: Customer Service Duties: Greets and interacts with customers- students, parents, faculty, staff and campus visitors- either in-person, by phone, or by email. Provides parking and transit information including best options and alternatives. Explains parking regulations to customers, why citations were issued, and how to avoid future citations. Explains the waiver and appeals processes to customers. Resolves customer issues or escalates to supervisor or manager. Percentage Of Time 50 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Permits and Citations Duties: Sells parking permits to customers by collecting cash or using POS equipment. Provides guidance to customers, in-person or using the online sales portal, answering questions and resolving issues until purchase is successful. Assists with permit purchases by answering questions and providing information on prices, types of permits, and locations. Processes permit returns and exchanges, including refunds and changes to payroll deduction. Collaborates with other NU system campuses to provide reciprocal parking permits. Processes permits for retirees and ADA accommodation. Collects fees from parking citations by collecting cash or using POS equipment. Percentage Of Time 30 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Clerical Duties: Documents and files citation, voucher, and permit information in accordance with record retention requirements. Assists in end-of-fiscal-year record storage transfer and purging. Performs data entry for processing of permits, fees, and waivers. Assists field staff with affiliation checks, immobilization and tow procedures, and DMV checks by using databases and completing and filing proper documentation. Percentage Of Time 15 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Office/Cashiering Duties: Assists with opening and closing procedures of office building. Operates daily cash drawer, POS equipment, and several computer applications and databases. Assists with inventory and ordering of office supplies. Reconciles daily cash drawer, process reconciliation and deposits, and enter data and prepare reports of daily financial activity. Percentage Of Time 5 Essential Function: Yes Required and Preferred Qualifications Required Education High school diploma or equivalent. Required Experience One (1) year general clerical experience.
