Join Amazon Data Services, Inc. as a Night Shift Data Center Operations Lead, where you'll play a pivotal role in the seamless operation of AWS global infrastructure. Our team is the backbone of the cloud, ensuring our customers have uninterrupted access to our services. We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for technology and a knack for leadership to help elevate our Data Center Operations. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for: Overseeing the daily operations of our data centers, ensuring high availability and reliability to meet or exceed our defined service levels. Leading a diverse team of data center professionals, prioritizing and assigning tasks to meet operational needs. Developing career paths and training programs for staff, ensuring effective recruitment and on-boarding processes. Managing hardware logistics and ensuring efficient queue management across operations. Acting as the subject matter expert on all aspects of data center operations and driving innovation for process improvement. Handling large-scale events and outages while acting as the call leader, responding promptly to challenges. Maintaining operational KPIs and continuously striving to enhance customer experience. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 PM to 5 AM, with the requirement of participating in an on-call rotation outside standard hours. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant experience in IT. At least 2 years of experience managing teams in a technical setting. Experience in 24/7 operational environments, including participation in on-call duty. Strong knowledge of networking or computer hardware. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Linux systems administration and detailed understanding of networking best practices. Hands-on experience with hardware architecture and troubleshooting. Familiarity with system management tools in client/server environments. Technical writing skills and prior experience in project management.
