The Role: National Sales Director – Digital Retail
S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan Partnership
We are looking for a seasoned Director of National Digital Retail Sales to develop, orchestrate and deliver go-to-market program strategies to increase the adoption of Market Scan products in the US automotive industry. This highly visible role will work with the executive teams of S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan to build Digital Retail partnerships, strengthen our value proposition, create broader market awareness, provide a critical voice into our robust product roadmap, and generate new business opportunities.
Responsibilities Sales and relationship management for designated accounts (including automotive OEMs, digital retail start-ups or mature operators, dealership management systems providers, CRM companies, automotive dealership groups, and major online retailers).
Define overall strategy, collaborate on marketing integrations, and demonstrate the continuous value of the Market Scan Sales and Marketing platform.
Develop and maintain an established network of C-suite and Digital Retail senior leaders; cultivate a growing network of new contacts.
Deliver revenue objectives for Market Scan sales and retention; promote adoption of Market Scan and S&P Global Mobility within Digital Retail accounts.
Demonstrate product technology expertise and ability to demo Market Scan products; oversee product and technical integration after the sale.
Oversee process integration and support dealer roll-out and pilot phases with partners on scope, requirements, and launch.
Manage terms and conditions of contracts; maintain autonomy and accountability; develop and report business management statistics and KPIs.
Utilize a strategic selling process and develop account plans for assigned accounts.
Strategy and Capabilities Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with the company’s objectives.
Understand market dynamics, competitive landscape, and opportunities to inform product development and customer feedback.
Stay current with product, industry, and competitive knowledge; articulate the S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan value proposition.
What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree or higher in sales, marketing, or business; at least 10 years of B2B direct consultative selling, account management, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of automotive digital retail or related experience.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (nationwide); extensive experience in software sales or automotive sectors.
Proven track record, strong business acumen, and problem-solving skills; capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple relationships in a matrixed environment and drive engagement and revenue goals; C-suite relationship development skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; able to work independently and in a team; data- and results-driven with strong execution.
Proven ability to lead initiatives, drive change, and develop and execute partner go-to-market plans; experience selling broad-based solutions.
Proactive in seeking feedback and resolving issues constructively; strong customer relationship development skills.
Willingness to travel up to 50% nationally; ability to work remotely and travel to Detroit, MI as needed for sales and marketing activities; attendance at relevant automotive events as required.
