National Sales Director – Digital Retail at S&P Global. Grade Level (for internal use): 13. The Role: National Sales Director – Digital Retail. S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan Partnership. We are looking for a seasoned Director of National Digital Retail Sales to develop, orchestrate and deliver go-to-market program strategies to increase the adoption of Market Scan products in the US automotive industry. This highly visible role will work with the executive teams of S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan to build Digital Retail partnerships, strengthen our value proposition, create broader market awareness, provide a critical voice into our product roadmap, and generate new business opportunities.
Responsibilities
S&P Global Mobility is looking for an experienced sales manager and business development leader to contribute to the revenue, margins, growth, and retention of the Digital Retail business. This position will have full relationship management responsibility for designated companies assigned by headquarters. This includes, but is not limited to, automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), automotive digital retail start-ups to fully operational ones, dealership management systems (DMS) providers, customer management system (CRM) companies, automotive dealership groups, and major online retailers.
This person must understand the Digital Retail business, goals, strategies, industry trends, direction, and how they map to S&P Global Mobility & Market Scan products and solutions.
Responsible for defining overall strategy, collaborating on marketing integrations, and demonstrating the continuous value of our Market Scan Sales and Marketing platform.
Possessing an established network of C-Suite and key Digital Retail senior leader relationships, as well as the ability to cultivate a quickly expanding network of new ones, will be critical for any applicant.
Sales Requirements
Deliver revenue objectives associated with Market Scan sales and retention.
Promote Market Scan and S&P Global Mobility adoption with Digital Retail accounts.
Product technology expertise with the ability to demo Market Scan products for prospective clients.
Oversee product and technical integration after the sale.
Oversee process integration after the sale.
Support dealer roll-out process by working closely with the Digital Retail companies.
Support product pilot phase by working closely with partner on pilot scope, requirements, and launch.
Daily management of terms and conditions of contracts.
Embrace a high level of autonomy and accountability.
Develops, tracks, and reports business management statistics and key performance indicators.
Understand and utilize a strategic selling process
Responsible for developing and maintaining account plans for assigned accounts.
Strategy Requirements
Develops and executes strategic business plans based on the Company’s strategic objectives.
Understand internal and external market dynamics affecting the performance of each prospect / client account.
Understand the competitive landscape and assess strategic opportunities to support new product development by providing feedback to Product Managers regarding customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive assessments.
Keeps current with the product, industry, and competitive knowledge.
Provides input on new product development projects (voice of the customer).
Able to clearly articulate the S&P Global Mobility and Market Scan value proposition.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or higher in sales, marketing, or business with at least 10 years of business-to-business direct consultative selling experience, account management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 10 years of automotive digital retail or related experience.
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including nationwide travel.
Extensive and progressive experience in software sales or within automotive.
Proven track record in achieving sales targets and conquests, selling broad-based solutions, and mastery of solutions selling techniques.
Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to manage multiple relationships simultaneously with superior time management and organizational skills in a matrixed environment.
Proven ability to cultivate C-suite relationship engagement and management.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and with a team, in unstructured environments, and manage day-to-day activities.
Data- and results-driven, detail-oriented, and a self-starter with strong execution capabilities.
Proven ability to develop and execute partner go-to-market plans and to lead multiple strategic sales initiatives through relationships.
Proficient understanding of value proposition and sales process.
Ability to solicit feedback, ask questions, and resolve issues constructively.
