Laboratory Technician Position

Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician to perform the following duties:

1. Collect specimens from patients in a manner that supports the hospital's quest relations policy.
2. Conducts all tests with departmental policy and procedures.
3. Observe and note test results, documenting and retesting any procedures that fall out of acceptable range.
4. Ensures adequate supplies are available to complete anticipated volume of test during course of assignment in area.
5. Follows safety and infection control policies of the laboratory and all other hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
6. Conducts instrument preventive maintenance as required by departmental policies and procedures on all equipment, as directed by departmental section head.
7. Performs and documents all quality control as a routine part of general testing.
8. Performs proficiency testing as designed by section head in assigned area.
9. Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
10. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
11. Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on quality improvement teams.
12. Other duties that may be assigned.
