Mental Health Therapists provide clinical mental health services (evaluation, diagnosis, and individual and group psychotherapy) to clients of the UVA Maxine Platzer Lynn Women’s Center. They provide case management for their clients, including making referrals for necessary services, and assist with care management duties. They also have outreach and wellness responsibilities. The position requires expertise and experience in the role of cultural, racial, gender and sexual identity in mental health, as well as experience/training working with issues of interpersonal violence, trauma, and related psychological issues, such as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and substance misuse. + Provide clinical mental health services (evaluation, diagnosis, and individual and group therapy). + Provide case management for clients, including making referrals when necessary. + Coordinate provision of care with other UVA offices when necessary. + Maintain case notes. + Assist with care management for people seeking services when the wait list is full. + Contribute to outreach and wellness programming. + Participate in continuing education and other professional development activities. Attend conferences and professional development activities. + In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. + Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Clinical or Counseling psychologyOne year of experience providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents or adults in a college setting, including minority/under-represented identities. + Current licensure as an LPC or LCSW in the State of Virginia; Virginia-licensed LPC residents who have completed at least 600 hours of face-to-face counseling experience in their residency will also be considered. + Training in evidence-based approaches for helping college populations such as Motivational interviewing, CBT, EMDR, or Seeking Safety. **Physical Demands** This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
