Printpack Rigid is seeking a candidate to fill a material handler position in our Newport News, VA Facility on 2nd shift. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and his/her key responsibility is to perform shipping and receiving duties safely and efficiently, in accordance with specifications and quality standards.Hours: 3pm to 11pmDays: Monday through Friday$2.50 an hour shift differential during the hours of 7pm to 11pmKey Responsibilities:Model Printpack's Core Values (https://www.printpack.com/core-values/)Work in a team environmentGeneral understanding of rack numbering systems, tags, raw materials, and WIPEfficient operation of stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move materialsPerformance of routine safety inspections of lift equipmentLoading and unloading trucksMoving material and general support of warehouse, shipping/receiving, and material handling functionsResponsible for maintaining the area or areas that they work in and aroundMaterial Handler must be willing to work with others to fulfill the key measures of the facilityMust possess skills and knowledge to complete forms and paperwork that will properly account for material being moved and supplied to each machineQUALIFICATIONS Required: High School Diploma/GED or minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.Ability to obtain forklift certification.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to wear all required PPE (hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnet, uniforms, and steel-toed shoes)Ability to work overtime as neededTime management sills to prioritize and balance workloadGood listening and reading skills with high retentionPreferred: Previous experience operating a forkliftPrevious warehouse experienceSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory duties.
