Position Summary
The Coachella Valley Firebirds are looking for an energetic performer to join our mascot, Fuego, and his crew as a special member of the Firebirds Energy Team. This position will be instrumental in assisting Fuego during game nights and community events. They will also be trained to learn Fuego’s movements and mannerisms so they can perform on an as-needed basis.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $20/phr.

COACHELLA VALLEY FIREBIRDS
The Coachella Valley Firebirds are the AHL’s 32nd Franchise and the affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The Firebirds are the league's back-to-back Western Conference Champions and the 2024 Calder Cup Pacific Division Champions. The 2024-2025 season will open on October 11.
Responsibilities
Working with the Mascot Program Manager on the preparation and organization of all entertainment aspects of the Firebirds’ home games
Learn and study the characteristics and mannerisms of Fuego
Provide support for Fuego during events throughout the community
Assisting in the execution of game night plans, mascot skits, and all contests/promotions on the ice and in the stands
Staging and maintenance of all in-game props and promotions
Organizing all game night set-up including game night mapping, notes and walkthroughs and other special event needs as required
Assists in the inventory of all Fuego props and fan giveaways
Other duties as assigned by Mascot Program Manager
Qualifications
Experience as a mascot performer is highly preferred but not required
Be creative and understand non-verbal acting and communication
Attention to detail and great organizational skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong ability to work well with others in a team environment
Ability to work independently and see projects through completion
Acting experience is a plus, but not required
Must have flexibility to work nontraditional hours, including most home games, nights, weekends, and holidays
High-level communication skills
Must have reliable transportation
Ability to skate is preferred
