Overview
Manager, Incentive Marketing Strategy| Retail Bank Capital One, a Fortune Magazine “100 Best Companies to Work For,” is seeking a Manager to join our Retail Bank Marketing team. This role will support our Integrated Strategy team, who is responsible for developing marketing & campaign strategy, including creative & messaging plans, that lead to cohesive customer experiences across all customers, channels & the full customer lifecycle.
This new role will be focused on building a long-term vision, horizontally across all bank products, that outlines how Retail Bank should be leveraging promotional offers (incentives) to meet our ambitious new account, deposits & customer engagement goals. A close partnership with Incentive Products, a team focused on building the technical capabilities necessary to bring promotional offers to market, will be critical to building the long-term roadmap.
Responsibilities:
Synthesize existing incentive marketing campaign performance & research insights to identify learnings
Conduct competitor analysis to understand the ecosystem of competitor offer structures and how they are marketing them to customers
Create learning agenda & rapid experimentation approach to helping us understand which incentives to which customers and how we market them is most effectively
Identify opportunities for further consumer customer research to advance the learning agenda for incentive marketing
Partner across Incentive Product, Marketing & other business partners to build a long-term vision for how incentives can help fuel growth in new customers & retention of existing customers and the roadmap to get there
Develop a go-to-market incentive playbook by documenting past learnings & best practices in creative & messaging of incentives
Work with Legal, Compliance and Risk partners to understand risks for various future incentive constructs & partner on mitigation strategies
Problem solve with peers on other teams and communicate relevant updates to senior leaders
Collaborate with the Incentive Product team to understand current capabilities and influence future incentive campaign needs. This involves cross-functional reviews to prioritize and sequence necessary developments.
This Associate should bring:
Hands on experience developing promotional offers or incentive marketing campaigns for consumer products, ideally retail bank products
Exposure to legal processes related to approving marketing strategy & messaging
Successful track record in facilitating alignment across matrixed or cross-functional teams
Very organized and able to self-manage details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities simultaneously while maintaining excellent and accurate work
Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing and verbal persuasion abilities
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
At least 8 years of experience in Consumer Marketing, Communications, or Marketing Strategy roles
At least 5 years of experience executing Marketing communications campaigns
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building product promotions & offer strategy
Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industry

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, MarketingRichmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, MarketingWilmington, DE: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Marketing Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
