Amazon is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to assist in maintenance and routine service of our remote controlled devices. The qualified candidate will require mechanical skills, electrical integration skills and assembly experience. You will be part of a larger development effort working independently in a highly collaborative environment.
The candidate will join a Research and Development team working on inventing and developing new transformative experiences. We offer competitive salary compensation and a comprehensive medical health package.
The candidate is expected to work closely with Engineering, Flight Operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on their assigned responsibilities. This individual should possess strong analytical skills, be a self-starter, and work well independently.
Key job responsibilities: • Demonstrate understanding of fleet performance metrics. • Demonstrate adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes. • Manage fleet spare parts and inventory. • Demonstrate proactive safety mindset in ambiguous situations. • Follow instructions outlined in standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical and electrical integration or assembly experience. - Basic engineering knowledge: mechanical, electrical, software. - Experience in installation of sub-assemblies and assemblies while working to drawings or CAD files. - Able to perform precision work with hand tools. - 2 years experience troubleshooting hardware and/or software issues in aviation industry or military. - Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach. - Valid Driver’s License and able to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility criteria. - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends and nights. - Willingness to travel up to 75% of the year. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Linux. - Familiar with Python or other scripting languages. - Experience creating CAD files based on loose specifications. - Excellent business communications, analytical, and reporting skills. - Able to work with minimal supervision and with ambiguity. - Experience in aerospace or robotics. - Experience working in a fast paced environment.
