About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facilities within the non-durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production quality. The technician will work closely with production teams to identify potential problems and implement solutions that enhance equipment reliability and safety. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate maintenance records and adhering to safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to sustaining a productive manufacturing environment by ensuring all mechanical systems and infrastructure are functioning optimally.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in mechanical repair and maintenance within a manufacturing setting. Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor. Preferred Qualifications: Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields. Experience with precision measuring tools and techniques. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors. Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure operational efficiency. Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and other manufacturing machinery. Conduct precision measuring and adjustments to maintain equipment within specified tolerances. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and components in compliance with safety standards. Perform carpentry and drywall repairs as needed to maintain facility infrastructure. Climb ladders and access elevated areas safely to perform maintenance tasks. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly. Maintain detailed maintenance logs and report on equipment status and repair activities. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
