Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leading mail order pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee daily operations and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements. This contract position offers a flexible schedule of approximately 8 hours per week, allowing for work-life balance while fulfilling all PIC responsibilities. The role requires an active pharmacist license in both Illinois and Alabama, as these state licenses govern the PIC duties. Additional licenses in Tennessee or Georgia are advantageous but not mandatory.

Schedule:
- Approximately 8 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations pertinent to mail order pharmacy operations
- Oversee pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance programs
- Maintain accuracy in medication dispensing and safeguard patient safety
- Monitor daily workflow processes and supervise pharmacy personnel involved in mail order fulfillment
- Manage DEA recordkeeping and controlled substance oversight
- Prepare for audits, regulatory inspections, and devise corrective action plans as needed
- Ensure proper storage, handling, packaging, and shipment of medications
- Serve as the primary liaison with state boards, accreditation agencies, and auditors
- Maintain all Illinois PIC compliance documentation and reporting
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Illinois and Alabama pharmacist licenses are mandatory
- Prior experience as a PIC or in pharmacy leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of mail order pharmacy operations, compliance, and regulatory matters
- Ability to work independently and maintain strict regulatory oversight within a flexible schedule
