Hospital Kitchen Cook Join our hospital's kitchen team as a cook, responsible for preparing high-volume, fresh meals safely and efficiently. Embrace our cook/serve program, creating delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes from scratch. Utilize your skills in measuring and following recipes to ensure quality and consistency. Responsibilities Cook high-volume meals including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Prepare food following recipes and measuring ingredients accurately. Operate grill, flat top, and deep fryer to prepare eggs, burgers, hot dogs, and Philly Cheese Steaks. Perform food prep tasks between meal services. Ensure food is labeled correctly, contributing to 10% of your tasks. Engage in 60% prep work and 30% cooking during your shift. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in volume cooking. Excellent customer service skills. Experience in measuring, cutting, and following recipes. Proficiency in food prep and line cooking. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in hotel, restaurant, or country club settings is a plus. Food Safe Serve Qualified/ServSafe Certification preferred but not required. Work Environment Work in the hospital's Nutritional Services department with flexible hours ranging from 6am-2pm or 9am-6pm. Open availability is required, including working every other weekend. Job Type & Location This is a contract to hire position based out of Washington, District of Columbia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
