We're looking for a dedicated Line Cook to prepare and plate quality dishes with speed, precision, and consistency in our restaurant at Cornerstone Church. You'll work a designated station on the line, follow standardized recipes, and ensure every plate meets our high standards for taste and presentation. Job Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and plating menu items on the kitchen line according to established recipes and quality standards. This role ensures each dish is prepared with precision, consistency, and efficiency while maintaining a clean and organized station. The Line Cook works closely with the kitchen team to support smooth service and an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items in accordance with recipes and standards, and station assignments.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies before and during service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures.
• Assist with prep work, restocking, and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Comply with all health and safety regulations, including ServSafe guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the ministry and its objectives.
Education and Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of kitchen experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of food preparation and safety standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on feet for extended periods.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays
• ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
Skills and Abilities
• Proficient in basic cooking techniques with consistent execution of recipes
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Reliable team player with strong communication and collaboration skills

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees will frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, and more than 50 pounds infrequently with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
