As a Line/Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all food is prepared and cooked to order, meeting our high standards for quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and assemble ingredients according to recipes and specifications, including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and making sauces and dressings. Cook dishes following the restaurant's recipes and standards to ensure quality and taste. Set up and stock your station with all necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout your shift. Use a variety of cooking techniques—grilling, sautéing, frying, and baking—to efficiently prepare dishes. Manage ingredients properly to maintain freshness and minimize waste, adhering to portion control guidelines. Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes, addressing any issues promptly. Assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed, reporting shortages or equipment issues to the kitchen manager. Collaborate closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation, effectively communicating with the team. Follow health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices and hygiene standards. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas. Proficient in English or Spanish. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks. Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment. Ability to work efficiently under pressure, juggling multiple tasks simultaneously. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness. Organizational and time management skills. Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Certifications: Texas Food Handlers Certification. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move quickly, bend, twist, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for using cutting tools and kitchen utensils for various tasks. Comfort with frequent temperature changes in the cooler/freezer and kitchen areas. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a line/prep cook or in a similar kitchen role is preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred.
