As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the Doctor in providing quality dental treatment and education to patients.

Responsibilities
Essential job duties include: Provide quality patient service by delivering thorough patient care, effective communication, and personal attention in a gentle and caring manner and plan appropriate dental hygiene care including prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, debridement, and periodontal maintenance
Provide nitrous oxide to patients under general supervision by the Doctor
Expose appropriate quality radiographs and develop, mount, and label properly
Provide accurate and concise patient record charting and complete database information to allow the Doctor to determine the appropriate treatment plan for the patient
Maintain a clean work environment and dental equipment to meet OSHA and Center for Disease Control sterilization and infection control regulatory standards
The qualifications we are looking for in a Dental Assistant include: High School diploma required
A current Minnesota Dental Assistant License
Certified to administer nitrous oxide analgesia
An up-to-date and organized Professional Portfolio summarizing written documentation of professional development activities
Current CPR certification obtained through the American Heart Association health care provider course, the American Red Cross professional rescuer course, or an equivalent course.
Knowledge of the principles and processes for providing dental and patient services including patient needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of patient satisfaction
Possess strong interpersonal skills, developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, striving for collaboration, and demonstrating professionalism
Possess effective written and oral communication skills
Possess critical thinking, logic, and reasoning skills.

Monday 7:00am-3:45pm
Tuesday 7:00am-3:45pm
Wednesday 6:30am-12:15pm

Continuing Education:
The Dental Specialists offers a wide range of continuing education courses throughout the year for team members including required courses such as CPR, and OSHA Annual Retraining. Dental Assistants that attend all the courses offered throughout the year are able to fulfill their biannual requirements for 25 hours of continuing education.
