Job Title: Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician (Full TIME - 40 hours per week) Location: San Mateo County, CA Compensation: $90,000 Our Client: Join a highly respected non-profit organization in San Mateo County, dedicated to over 45 years of service in combating poverty. Role Overview: As a Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, you will play a crucial role in delivering mental health care within the clinic and coordinating referrals to necessary external services. This position offers the opportunity to engage in evidence-based treatments and collaborate with other mental health providers as needed. You will supervise Mental Health Care Interns, making it essential to hold a valid license for psychotherapeutic practice in California (LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW). Additionally, you will support and lead mental health initiatives within the agency, delivering services in both English and Spanish when required. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and care coordination for mental health services. Screen and evaluate patients for mental health disorders, educate them on treatment options, and monitor clinical symptoms and side effects. Support medication management prescribed by PCPs or psychiatrists, ensuring adherence and evaluating effectiveness. Deliver evidence-based brief interventions (e.g., Behavioral Activation, Problem-Solving Treatment, Motivational Interviewing) and facilitate referrals for further psychosocial treatments (e.g., CBT, IPT). Document patient progress, treatment plans, and clinical outcomes in a registry to ensure effective care coordination. Supervise interns and participate in case consultations with psychiatric consultants to enhance treatment plans for patients needing additional support. Assist in facilitating referrals for external services (e.g., social services, vocational rehabilitation, substance abuse treatment) and contribute to program structuring and performance evaluation as needed. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings and fulfill additional duties as assigned. Requirements: Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences, Counseling Psychology, or a related field. Over 3 years of experience in mental health counseling, including screening, assessment, treatment planning, and non-profit work with underserved populations. A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is required. Licensure certifications: Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist. Bilingual and bicultural English/Spanish candidates are preferred but not mandatory. Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to adhere to HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations.
