Overview WindsorMeade Lead Server - Full Time. 40 hours a week. Rotating shifts a week: Mon-Sat: 11am to 9pm, Sun 8am-4pm. Some holidays and weekends needed.
Job Description In addition to working as a server, the Lead Server trains new and current dining team members, coordinates and supervises the dining room team with direction from the Dining Room Manager and performs opening and closing duties.
Education, Experience, Certification and Licensure Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent.
Two years server experience in restaurant preferred.
Job Duties Responsible for the resident dining satisfaction.
Place food orders and deliver food and drink to residents in proper fine dining fashion.
Clearing courses and perform cleaning of assigned dining areas.
Participate in set-up and breakdown of special function events.
Attend all mandatory in-service training sessions.
Assist with the training and development of other servers as requested by management.
Assist in restocking and sanitation of wait stations and service areas used during service.
May help schedule and assign servers in the dining room.
All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced knowledge of dining room front house operations to perform mid-level duties in serving and presentation of the dining experience at the community.
Knowledge of food service and presentation as well as customer service and sanitation.
Knowledge of basic food production, hosting, and serving.
Ability to compute basic math.
Good communication skills and experience working with older adults.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheets.
Supervision and Decision Making Exercised Work is moderately supervised and directed work is reviewed at critical points for soundness, judgement, and overall accuracy.
Leads dining room workers and servers but does not manage.
Decision making involves diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, determining predicted outcomes, evaluating results, and coordinating with others to find solutions.
Independent decisions are made based on standard policies and practices. Must obtain approval from immediate supervisor for non-routine decisions.
Prioritizes and executes multiple tasks and assists in special work.
Basic problem solving using standard practices and procedures. Problems are solved in consultation with guidance from a more experienced server or dining manager.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Extensive walking, pulling, pushing, carrying, bending, stooping and standing
Ability to, taste, and smell.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English
Exposure to heat and cold in a food production environment.
Must be neat and clean at all times.
Universal staffing, holiday, inclement weather, and a flexible work schedule are required.
Exposure to the sights, sounds and smells of a typical healthcare environment including people with dementia.
