Lead Server
The Lead Server is responsible for maintaining effective food and beverage operation during assigned shift and providing excellent customer service and staff support. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct actions of designated staff to ensure appropriate duties and procedures are performed.
- Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner.
- Interact with guests in a manner which makes them feel comfortable and welcome.
- Ensure a safe and effective operation exists; monitors all work areas for potential safety hazards and initiates corrective actions; follows and enforces established cleaning schedules, storage procedures, etc.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints in order to maintain positive customer relations and to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to Food & Beverage Manager.
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages.
Supervisory responsibilities include banquet servers and bussers.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks.
- Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, and smoke.
- Communicate effectively at all times, with customers as well as all levels of employees.
- Observe and direct actions of beverage staff to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
- Pour drinks to proper specifications.
- Review and comprehend drink recipes and other necessary documentation.
- Use all equipment associating with the position including Aloha computer system, keyboard, and bar equipment.
- Lift and move cases of alcohol and kegs of beer, with or without assistance, weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
- At least five (5) years in the food and beverage industry.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
- Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
- Frequently stooping, reaching.
- Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
- There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
- Work with others in close spaces.
- Moderate to high noise levels.
- Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
