SAGE Dining Services® is seeking a full time, motivated Lead Cook with high energy and a great attitude for a private school in Middletown, RI. The Lead Cook will play a key role in creating memorable, high-quality dishes that enhance the dining experience for our students, faculty, and staff. This position requires a strong culinary skill set, high volume expertise, and expertise in engaging action station demonstrations to showcase culinary techniques and foster an interactive dining environment. The kitchen is beautiful, and the staff is excellent. This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your career by leading a team and collaborating with four managers to execute catering functions and deliver high-level daily service. The schedule is currently Tuesday - Saturday 6am- 2:30 pm
Occasional weekends and evenings for catering events with advanced notice.

What you'll do:
Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.
Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and Team Members, providing service with a smile.
Oversee the preparation of menu items in strict accordance with SAGE recipes.
Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques always (HACCP).
Clean all work areas, equipment, and guest service areas on an ongoing basis.
Assist with the inventory of food products and developing order sheets.
Train, motivate, and oversee Cooks and culinary Team Members.
Set a good example each day by being a role model and leader in the kitchen.
Adapt to additional duties as assigned by management.
Endure exposure to extreme temperatures; intense heat and freezing cold.
What you'll need:
Culinary knowledge and cooking experience required.
Culinary degree preferred, but not required.
Strong organizational skills required.
Experience delegating tasks and following up with Team Members.
Capacity to train and motivate others.
ServSAFE® certification preferred, but not required.
