Join Data Society as a part-time Data Science and Data Literacy Instructor and help professionals around the world gain the skills they need to transform their careers and industries.
As an independent contractor, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to teach subjects you’re passionate about—on a schedule that fits your life—while being supported by a collaborative and communicative team.
We maintain an active pool of contract instructors year-round, offering regular teaching opportunities.
You’ll lead engaging, interactive sessions for professionals across industries and skill levels, helping them understand how to apply data science, machine learning, and AI in practical, impactful ways.
Your role is not just to instruct, but to inspire—creating a positive and supportive learning environment where learners leave empowered and ready to act.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction to professional audiences through live online or in-person sessions.
Prepare thoroughly for each course by reviewing and internalizing curriculum content.
Use interactive, hands-on teaching methods to support different learning styles.
Collaborate with instructional designers and fellow data scientists to continuously improve course content.
Communicate student needs, feedback, and insights to internal teams to enhance the learning experience.
Engage with students and client stakeholders to identify potential additional learning needs.

You’re a great communicator, comfortable teaching adult learners in professional settings, including federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
Minimum Qualifications:
2+ years of professional experience in a data-focused role.
Proficiency in at least one of the following areas:
R, Python, SQL Data Governance Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Experience teaching or tutoring adult learners (online and/or in-person).
Strong presentation and facilitation skills; confident teaching professionals and executives.
Fluent in the language of instruction (English required; additional languages a plus). (Possible projects could require English, Spanish, Dutch/Flemish, or French fluency) Powered by JazzHR
