Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician Forging Type: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor & Shift Leadership
Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician Forging is responsible for maintaining equipment, facilities, and working conditions to meet production and safety expectations. This role provides reliable support to manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment runs efficiently to produce high-quality products that exceed customer requirements. The position requires collaboration with production and maintenance leadership to align repair activities with production priorities, as well as technical expertise in forging and related manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), repairs, and troubleshooting on industrial manufacturing equipment, with a focus on forging operations.
Notify Maintenance Team Leader, Production Team Leader, or Operators when repairs are completed and equipment is production-ready.
Assist and rotate with other maintenance specialists to manage workload effectively.
Maintain open communication between maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
Support planned equipment changes and upgrades to minimize production downtime.
Maintain the plants equipment, facilities, and property in safe, efficient working condition.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve the reliability and capability of production equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for plant equipment and processes.
Assist in training maintenance team members by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulations.
Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of ISO9001, IATF16949, and ISO14001 standards.
Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems).
Understanding of forging, compacting, deflash, double disk grind, shot peen, whitelight inspection, video ink jet, magnetic particle inspection, and dip tank operations.
Proficiency with tools, technology, and industrial maintenance practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Safety-focused work ethic and adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Ability to make intuitive and practical decisions under pressure.
Education & Experience Requirements
Must Have:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree in Applied Science in Electronics, Mechanical, Hydraulics, Automated Manufacturing, or Electrical preferred).
Minimum 2 years experience in industrial maintenance/manufacturing operations (4 years preferred).
Working knowledge of forging processes and related manufacturing equipment.
Preferred experience with compacting, deflash, double disk grind, shot peen, whitelight inspection, and related inspection processes.
