Description
The Ice Park Customer Service Representative plays a key role in ensuring a positive experience for all guests by providing friendly and professional service throughout the facility. This position is responsible for operating admissions and rental windows, assisting with concessions, and monitoring ice surfaces to promote safety and enjoyment. Representatives also support events and programs, oversee general facility operations, and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to enforce policies in a respectful manner while contributing to the overall success of the Ice Park and Parks & Recreation programs.
Examples of Duties
Customer Service: Provide friendly and professional assistance to all visitors, answer inquiries, give directions, and ensure a welcoming and positive experience at the Ice Park.
Admissions & Rentals: Operate the admissions and rental windows, process payments, issue tickets and wristbands, and distribute/collect rental skates and equipment.
Concessions: Prepare and serve food and beverages at concession stands, handle cash and credit card transactions, and maintain a clean, sanitary workspace.
Ice Monitoring: Supervise ice surfaces during public skating sessions and events to ensure participant safety, enforce rules, and provide assistance when needed.
Facility Oversight: Monitor the Ice Park facility, report any safety or maintenance concerns, and help ensure equipment and supplies are organized and available.
Event Support: Assist with set-up, operations, and clean-up for special events, group rentals, and community programs held at the Ice Park.
Enforce Policies: Ensure compliance with Ice Park rules, safety regulations, and program guidelines in a consistent and respectful manner.
General Maintenance: Perform light cleaning tasks, restock supplies, and help keep public areas tidy and inviting.
Typical Qualifications
Experience Customer Service: Prior experience in recreation programs, concessions, or customer service is preferred but not required.
Basic Math and Computer Skills: Ability to handle cash transactions, operate a register, and use basic software for front desk operations.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to interact positively with the public, staff, and program participants in a professional manner.
Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately record scores, handle money responsibly, and follow operational procedures.
Teamwork and Adaptability: Willingness to assist in multiple roles and adjust to changing program needs.
Ability to Work Independently: Capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision and making sound decisions when necessary.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in various weather conditions when supporting outdoor events.
Reliable and Punctual: Must adhere to assigned schedules and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Supplemental Information
Outdoor Work Environment: Duties will be performed outdoors in the winter.
Varied Schedule: Work hours will include evenings, weekends, and some holidays based on program needs.
Physical Activity: Requires standing, walking, occasional lifting, and exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
Customer Interaction: Frequent interaction with participants, spectators, and staff in a fast-paced environment.
