As a home provider, you will share your home with an individual with a disability, helping to create a safe and healthy environment while mentoring them in daily living tasks. Together, you will cultivate life skills and foster independence, participating in various activities both at home and in the community. Your duties will vary based on the individual's needs, from offering minimal support (such as budgeting, medication management, and transportation) to more intensive assistance (including dressing, toileting, feeding, and behavioral support). Compensation aligns with the level of support you provide. Key Responsibilities: Assist with daily living tasks, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry Support skill acquisition and foster independence Administer medication and facilitate medical appointments Promote the overall health and well-being of the individual Document daily activities and progress using a web-based application Encourage community engagement and socialization Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures Collaborate effectively with team members Provide transportation as needed Possible Additional Responsibilities: Support with personal care tasks, including bathing and toileting Assist with specialized medical protocols as required Care for individuals with complex physical or medical needs Offer support for behavioral challenges, if necessary Qualifications: Must be a resident of Iowa Valid transportation, driver's license, insurance, and registration required Active renters or homeowners insurance Must be at least 18 years old Experience in caregiving is preferred but not mandatory Reliable access to a computer and the internet Completion of all state-mandated training is necessary A clean and safe living environment is essential Ability to pass background checks as required
