Peckham Inc., a leading nonprofit vocational rehabilitation organization, is seeking a dynamic General Manager for our Construction division. This role involves overseeing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring timely completion within budget, and upholding our commitment to empowering individuals facing employment barriers. The ideal candidate will be adept at balancing strategic leadership with hands-on project management to maintain high standards of construction quality, safety, and team satisfaction. Direct and oversee construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and building regulations. Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, and construction personnel to deliver projects on schedule and within budget. Manage the procurement of building materials and construction equipment. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques. Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status, daily progress, estimates, and deliverables. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain permits and licenses. Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks. Support and train a diverse workforce, including individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Strong leadership and human resources management skills. Proficiency in handling project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCAD). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards. Capability to plan and see the ?big picture?. Competence in conflict and crisis management.
