Your role as a General Manager
As the Full-Time General Manager at Lunds & Byerlys, you will oversee all facets of an efficient, high-touch retail environment, ensuring exceptional customer service and product excellence. Your leadership will be instrumental in coaching and mentoring a dedicated team, driving both individual career development and the overall financial success of the location. You will foster a culture of engagement by hiring, training, and supervising employees to deliver the top-tier service synonymous with our brand.
It's your responsibility to uphold food safety protocols, monitor product quality, and maintain operational compliance. By analyzing performance data, you will identify cost-saving opportunities while participating in budget development to achieve sales and labor objectives. With a commitment to excellence and a customer-centric focus, you'll act as a community ambassador, representing the values and integrity of Lunds & Byerlys.
What We're Looking For In a General Manager
To excel as the Full-Time General Manager at Lunds & Byerlys, a combination of education, experience, and essential skills is vital. A customer-focused, high-energy demeanor is crucial, enabling you to respond adeptly to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects efficiently. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and problem-solving, alongside sound judgment for decision-making.
Proficiency in financial reporting and software tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) is essential for monitoring performance, and making decision to positively impact profitability. A depth of knowledge of the retail grocery industry will allow this individual to make changes adjust staffing and merchandising plans to achieve sales targets.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Bachelor's degree in management, general business, retail or equivalent experience
Licensing Required Food safety certification or ability to obtain and maintain
Experience Seven years of experience in the retail industry incorporating a variety of management experiences
Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A hospitable, service-oriented individual with a high energy, positive and friendly demeanor Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills Sound understanding of retail operations Knowledge and aptitude of financial reporting systems and concepts Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills Ability to delegate and follow through Ability to hold team accountable to standard expectations Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse facility Comply with USDA, FDA, OSHA and all other regulatory agencies Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
