Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) of the Arizona Facility is a key senior leader responsible for overseeing all site operations, including safety, automation, compliance, and performance metrics. This individual will manage a high-volume, highly regulated pharmacy fulfillment operation and ensure adherence to both state and federal regulations. The GM will work in close collaboration with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to uphold pharmacy standards, drive operational excellence, and deliver an exceptional patient and partner experience.
This position is ideal for an experienced operational leader with a strong regulatory mindset, an understanding of pharmacy workflows, and a passion for building scalable systems and teams.

Operational Leadership

Oversee all daily operations across fulfillment, packaging, inventory, logistics, staffing, and facilities.
Lead cross-functional planning and execution of business objectives with clear accountability and communication across all functional departments.
Serve as the senior-most operational decision-maker on-site, including during escalations, audits, and rapid-response scenarios.
Pharmacy Regulatory & Compliance
Partner closely with the PIC to ensure the facility complies with all applicable state Board of Pharmacy rules, DEA requirements, and FDA regulations.
Maintain proper licensure, documentation, record keeping, and audit readiness in coordination with the compliance and pharmacy operations teams.
Lead the facility’s pharmacy regulatory initiatives, audits, and inspections, serving as the operational liaison to the PIC.
Ensure compliance with DSCSA, prescription drug handling rules, labeling, and patient safety protocols.
Safety Management
Own the site safety strategy, including OSHA standards, incident reporting, and employee training.
Lead regular audits, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of safety and accountability across all departments.
Automation & Workflow Optimization
Champion and manage automation implementation, including robotics, conveyor systems, and software bots.
Collaborate with engineering and pharmacy tech teams to streamline workflows and reduce manual errors or bottlenecks.
Lead initiatives that drive workflow scalability and accuracy using automation and technology.
KPI & Performance Management
Define, measure, and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, output, quality, fulfillment speed, labor efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Provide clear reporting and performance visibility to executive leadership, using real-time dashboards and tools.
Continuously evaluate metrics to inform hiring, resourcing, workflow design, and quality assurance programs.
Leadership & Culture
Hire, train, and lead a diverse cross-functional team including technicians, supervisors, and operations leaders.

Coach and mentor emerging leaders and contribute to a positive and compliant work environment.
Strategic Projects & Growth
Lead site readiness for new product launches, program expansions, and changes in regulatory requirements.
Represent the Arizona facility in corporate planning, strategic decision-making, and multi-site coordination.
Partner with cross-functional leadership to evolve the physical plant, equipment strategy, and logistics model as volume scales.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in high-volume pharmacy operations, healthcare distribution, or regulated logistics.
Deep knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations, including DSCSA, DEA, FDA, and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
Experience working with or directly supporting a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC).
Strong background in safety, quality assurance, and process standardization.
Demonstrated success in managing KPIs, automation technologies, and continuous improvement programs.
Proven ability to lead large teams (100+ employees) in dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cold chain, or pharmacy fulfillment preferred.
Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar operational certification.
Familiarity with BestRx, Timeshyft, Zendesk, or enterprise WMS systems.
Previous experience in startup or scale-up operations highly desirable.
