UT Health San Antonio Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine Division of Gastroenterology & Nutrition , Department of Medicine Specialist (Nurse Practitioner) The Division of Gastroenterology & Nutrition in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio has a full-time opening for a Nurse Practitioner faculty member. We are seeking qualified individuals with a strong commitment to patient centered care and innovative team-based care. The selected candidates will work outpatient clinical duties at UT Health San Antonio - De Zavala and Mays Cancer Center Clinics. This position also includes clinical teaching opportunities. Performs physical examinations, orders laboratory and medical imaging tests, makes preliminary diagnoses, and provides treatments. Assists in diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by performing a variety of medical or surgical tasks. Instructs and counsels patients on various medical related subjects. Obtains complete medical history from patients, performs physical examinations, organizes and presents the physical data, together with evaluation and recommendations, in such a way as to permit the nurse practitioner to visualize the problem and determine appropriate diagnostic procedures.
