In this role, you'll engage in merchandising, stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining store cleanliness to uphold the standards of our retail environment. Position Type: Full-Time Average Hours: 32-40 hours per week Starting Wage: $18.00 per hour Wage Increases: Year 2 - $18.50 | Year 3 - $19.00 | Year 4 - $19.00 | Year 5 - $20.00 Duties and Responsibilities: Exhibit strong customer-focused attitudes by applying the ALDI Acts Competencies and Professional Skills as outlined for the role. Efficiently process customer purchases, conduct general cleaning tasks, and neatly stock shelves and merchandise displays. Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting shoppers in a friendly and professional manner. Work cohesively with team members and maintain clear communication with store management. Provide valuable feedback to management regarding products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and other store issues. Participate in stock inventory counts and maintain accuracy in product inventory. Follow cash handling policies and procedures to prevent losses. Abide by all company policies, ensuring the confidentiality and security of documents and data. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the store's operations. Physical Demands: Ability to stock merchandise from the receiving area to shelving; capable of handling products weighing up to 45 pounds at different heights. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and navigate throughout the store. Must be able to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old to apply. Proficient in offering prompt and courteous customer service. Able to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately. Capable of safely using equipment, such as electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers. Skilled in performing general cleaning tasks to meet company standards. Able to interpret and apply company policies and procedures effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capability to follow instructions while multitasking effectively. Compliance with any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail experience is a plus. A combination of education and experience that demonstrates equivalent knowledge is acceptable.
