Facilities Maintenance Technician I, Full Time, Various Shifts

A Facility Maintenance Technician I performs basic and routine maintenance tasks and upkeep of buildings and equipment under the supervision of more experienced staff. This entry-level role focuses on hands-on work, ensuring facilities are safe, clean, and functional. May be required to work nights and weekends on a 24/7 shift schedule and complete other tasks as directed by Facilities Director or supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Performs tasks such as cleaning equipment and mechanical spaces.
- Performs morning rounds to include the cleanliness of entry ways and trash removal.
- Assists Factilities Maintenance Specailists with various tasks.
- Responsible for parking lot maintenance.
- Assists grounds tech when needed. Other Duties - Snow and ice removal for the hospital campus and other Summit owned facilities.
- Participates in departmental and association wide informational meetings and inservices, including staff meetings, association wide forums, and seminars.
- Reviews department and association wide policies and procedures annually. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Abilities - Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
- Must be able to perform physical labor such as hand tool operation.
- Basic mechanical understanding. Physical Demands Exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. The worker is exposed to contact with chemicals and infectious fluids, heavy lifting, constant standing, extensive close work, and extensive computer work. Required Education and Experience - High School or GED certificate.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license Preferred Education and Experience - 1-2 years of related experience. OSHA Exposure Category: Involves no regular exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and are not a condition of employment. This is a safety sensitive position.
