Job Summary: The Distribution Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement, storage, and handling of products within the distribution area. This role combines hands-on operational dutiesincluding forklift operation and inventory scanningwith leadership responsibilities to support and guide team members in achieving departmental KPIs and company goals. The Team Lead acts as a key liaison between associates and management, fostering a productive and safety-focused work environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Lead and support distribution team members in daily tasks, ensuring adherence to safety, USDA, and GMP standards. Delegate responsibilities and assist supervisors in assigning work based on operational priorities. Operate a sit-down forklift to move product from blast freezer to racks and load/unload trucks. Use hand-held scanners to track product inventory accurately. Wrap palletized products to specifications using wrapping equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Ensure team members remain focused and productive, addressing issues as they arise. Train and mentor new associates in accordance with company policies and safety practices. Act as a problem solver and facilitator to ensure workflow efficiency. Maintain punctual and regular attendance, lead by example in professionalism and accountability. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team. Ability to delegate and empower others effectively and responsibly. Effective verbal and written communication skills Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Able to follow written and verbal instructions and company policies. Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. High energy level and ability to manage stress in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements: Able to stand 810 hours per day. Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Possible bending, stooping, twisting, and squatting. Operate powered industrial equipment (must be able to become forklift certified). Able to work safely in sub-zero temperatures (as low as -40F) for up to 2 hours at a time. Working Conditions: Cold, damp, or freezer environments Exposure to loud machinery and dusty conditions Fast-paced distribution and production setting Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED Previous experience in food production or distribution environment preferred Ability to be forklift certified
