Amazon Web Services is seeking a senior technical leader to build and scale a world-class team of Solutions Architects for the North America Retail & CPG industry. This executive role combines strategic thought leadership with hands-on execution-developing customer-obsessed leaders who guide top brands on their cloud and AI transformation journeys.
As part of the North America Solutions Architect Leadership team, you will coach and grow leaders of leaders, enabling them to drive customer outcomes through cloud-native architectures, Generative AI-powered innovation, and Agentic AI-driven automation. Together with AWS Sales, Services, and Professional Services, you'll accelerate adoption, create industry-defining solutions, and deliver measurable business value.
You will act as a trusted CxO advisor and technical Executive Sponsor for leading Retail & CPG customers, representing AWS at the industry's most visible forums. Your leadership will empower customers to embrace emerging technologies, reimagine customer experiences, and modernize operations through AI, data, and cloud-native platforms.
This role requires a leader who is both technically credible and visionary-able to shape how the industry adopts Generative AI, Agentic AI, and cloud innovation at scale. You will cultivate best practices in solution selling, executive communication, and value-driven architecture, while collaborating deeply across AWS to influence strategy, product direction, and customer success.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the North America Retail & CPG Solutions Architecture organization-coaching, developing, and scaling SA leadership with deep knowledge in Generative and Agentic AI applied across retail use cases.
- Drive AI-infused strategic thought leadership, frameworks, whitepapers, and industry guidance to showcase AWS as the innovation partner for the Retail & CPG sector.
- Act as a technical Executive Sponsor and trusted CxO-level advisor-helping leading brands accelerate their adoption of Generative and Agentic AI to deliver hyper-personalized experiences, AI-driven supply chain orchestration, and autonomous customer engagement at scale.
- Partner with Sales, Services, Marketing, and Engineering to embed agentic AI capabilities-such as AI assistants and autonomous workflows-into customer transformation plans that unlock new business value.
Basic Qualifications
- 15+ years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications
- 10+ years management of technical, customer facing resources
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field
- Working knowledge of latest software development tools and methodologies.
- Experience working with Enterprise customers.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Generative AI & Agentic AI Expertise: Proven experience integrating AI technologies-like LLMs, generative models, or autonomous agents-to drive customer transformation in retail, CPG, or adjacent industries.
- AI-Powered Customer Journeys: Domain knowledge in AI-driven personalization, predictive product recommendations, dynamic pricing models, autonomously orchestrated supply chain or logistics decisions.
- Strategic AI Advisory: Track record as a technical advisor at the CxO level, helping customers build AI-first cloud architectures that accelerate business growth and operational agility.
- Thought Leadership in AI Transformation: Authored AI-driven industry assets (whitepapers, architectural frameworks, blog posts, talks) that helped Retail & CPG organizations embrace generative and agentic AI.
- Cloud & AI Certification: AWS certifications in solutions architecture and ML, plus demonstrated ability to lead teams in adopting emerging AI services (e.g., AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, AI agents)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $241,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
