A Brief Overview
The Director of Retail is a pivotal leadership role tasked with driving the strategic vision, as well as operational and financial excellence of our U.S. ASICS retail locations. This role will have an opportunity to elevate the performance of all retail stores aimed at optimizing sales growth and profitability, while aligning modern industry strategies with ASICS' brand values and objectives. The successful candidate will have exceptional leadership skills to motivate and develop both the Direct to Consumer office support teams and the ASICS field leadership team. This position requires strong analytical skills to monitor KPIs, manage P&L effectively, and proactively respond to market trends and consumer insights. The Director will be responsible for fostering close alignment and partnerships not only with the Global Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team but also with cross-functional teams such as Marketing and Product, ensuring a cohesive omnichannel strategy that enhances customer experiences across all touchpoints. Additionally, the ability to negotiate effectively with landlords and collaborate seamlessly within a matrixed organization will be crucial for success. Ultimately, the Director of Retail Stores will play a key role in shaping the future of ASICS retail, leading initiatives that enhance brand presentation and drive operational excellence.

What You'll Do
Strategic Vision Development: Create and implement a comprehensive U.S. retail strategy that aligns with the Global Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and omnichannel strategies focused on driving growth and profitability.
Operational Excellence Oversight: Lead and optimize daily retail operations to ensure efficiency, consistency, and the highest standards of customer service across all stores.
Financial Management: Manage P&L statements for retail locations, analyzing financial performance and implementing strategies to enhance profitability and cost-effectiveness.
KPI Monitoring and Analysis: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate retail performance, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
Team Leadership and Development: Motivate and develop both the Direct to Consumer office support teams and ASICS field leadership teams to foster a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with Global DTC teams and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of retail strategies and initiatives.
Market Trend Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends and consumer behavior, proactively adjusting strategies to leverage opportunities and address challenges in the retail landscape.
Landlord Negotiation: Negotiate lease agreements and manage relationships with landlords to secure optimal retail space and terms that support business goals.
Visual Merchandising Execution: Oversee visual merchandising standards to ensure brand presentation is consistent and appealing across all retail locations.
Change Management Leadership: Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing operational processes and customer experiences, ensuring successful implementation and adoption across all levels of the organization.

Ability to travel within the domestic U.S. (approximately 50%) and internationally if needed.
Ability to work varied hours, nights, days, and weekends to support the business needs, as necessary.
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
7-10 years experience effectively managing and leading team and department success required
8-10 years experience working within a strategic leadership position leading various retail teams and initiatives required
Experience effectively negotiating multiple retail store lease agreements
SALARY / PAY RANGE: Min:$135,000 Max: $150,000
