Your Role
As the Director of Retail , you will be the driving force behind our retail strategy and operations, leading a talented team of retail professionals, and ensuring that our stores provide exceptional customer experience. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to ensure the brand's retail presence is aligned with brand vision, growth targets, and overall strategic objectives.
This leadership role requires a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and the ability to inspire and lead a team to deliver results that reflect our client's commitment to innovation, quality, and customer-centric experiences.
What You'll Do
Retail Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of the retail strategy, ensuring it aligns with the broader brand goals, seasonal campaigns, and growth objectives. You’ll create innovative retail initiatives that drive traffic, increase conversion rates, and elevate the brand in each location. Talent Acquisition & Networking: Take an active role in the recruitment and hiring process for key retail positions across your region. You’ll network with top talent and build relationships with local communities to identify and attract high-performing individuals to join the Mavi team. Focus on building a strong pipeline of talent for both current and future retail needs. Team Leadership & Development: Lead and inspire a team of retail managers, visual merchandisers, and store associates. You’ll foster a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and high performance while ensuring that all team members are trained, motivated, and aligned with the brand's mission and vision. Operational Excellence: Oversee daily retail operations, ensuring stores are run efficiently and effectively. From inventory management to store presentation, you’ll guarantee that every aspect of the retail environment is optimized for maximum sales and customer satisfaction. Brand & Customer Experience: Ensure the delivery of an exceptional customer experience across all locations by maintaining brand standards, driving customer loyalty programs, and identifying opportunities for improvement. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining the brand's reputation as a leading, customer-focused denim brand. Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with the executive leadership team to align retail objectives with company-wide goals. This includes collaborating on key initiatives such as new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and brand activations. P&L Responsibility: Manage the retail budget and P&L for all retail locations, ensuring that financial targets are met while maintaining operational efficiency. You’ll analyze financial data and use it to make informed decisions to drive profitability and growth. Retail Performance & KPIs: Set clear performance expectations, monitor KPIs, and ensure store teams are aligned with retail goals. You’ll continuously assess performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to improve sales, traffic, and profitability. Product Lifecycle & Merchandising Oversight: Work closely with the visual merchandising and inventory teams to manage the product lifecycle, ensuring that products are merchandised correctly, replenished on time, and effectively filtered as the season progresses. Innovation & Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on opportunities for retail expansion, market penetration, and brand positioning. You’ll drive innovation in the retail space to keep the brand ahead of trends and enhance the brand’s competitive edge.
What You Bring
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in multi-unit retail leadership, with a proven track record in driving sales growth, operational excellence, and team development. Leadership & Vision: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team. You’re a forward-thinking, strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, and financial reporting. You know how to optimize performance while maintaining cost efficiency. Customer-Centric Focus: Deep passion for customer experience and a proven ability to enhance customer engagement and loyalty through innovative retail strategies. Collaboration & Influence: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and senior leadership, to execute retail strategies. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate strategy, vision, and operational goals across all levels of the organization.
