Your Role Gensler’s Los Angeles team is seeking an experienced Designer with a successful track record working on Retail Stores and multi-site implementation (rollout) projects of various sizes. You will collaborate with designers and architects to develop design concepts and communicate project progress to ensure client satisfaction.

What You Will Do

Design and plan new retail store concepts, focusing on interiors and core/shell structures.

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, integrating experiential elements to enhance brand presence.

Collaborate with the Design Director(s) to lead project teams through programming, consulting, planning, conceptual design, space planning, presentations, and development.

Provide creative leadership and mentorship to design teams.

Resolve complex design issues creatively.

Coordinate design with technical and production teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture or Interior Design; Architecture license preferred.

10+ years of relevant experience, especially in retail design of various scales.

Strong relationship-building skills with younger designers and clients.

Leadership experience in architecture and design.

Ability to work across time zones.

Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, 3D Studio Max, VRay, Adobe Suite.

Excellent analytical, sketching, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.

Strong programming and space planning skills.

Experience in construction documentation and design detailing.

Ability to translate ideas into visuals like diagrams, plans, renderings, and models.
