About the Role

The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Legal Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will serve as the senior legal executive and strategic partner to the Chief Legal Officer, providing expert legal counsel across all operational aspects. This pivotal role involves overseeing critical legal functions such as government investigations, compliance programs, and litigation management, with a focus on protecting the organization's mission in the democratic process. The Deputy CLO will also be responsible for managing complex legal challenges in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment, supervising legal staff, and ensuring the alignment of legal strategies with the company's goals.

Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school, active membership in a state bar association, and a minimum of 10 years' legal experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. The role requires a strong background in corporate law, compliance, and complex legal matter management, as well as significant experience in government investigations and regulatory enforcement actions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and overseeing comprehensive compliance programs, internal controls, and risk management systems. Expertise in employment law, contracts, corporate governance, and intellectual property is essential, as is the ability to proactively identify legal and regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies. The Deputy CLO will also be involved in legal matters related to consumer protection regulations, insurance coverage issues, and strategic business relationships.
