Role of the Position:
Support our dynamic academic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant supporting the daily operations of the School of Dental Medicine Clinics. Under the supervision of licensed dentists, you will utilize advanced four-handed dentistry techniques to assist student doctors and faculty dentists in delivering comprehensive patient care. Apply sterile techniques and infection control protocols before, during, and after all dental treatments. Maintain exposure control procedures in accordance with safety standards and ensure proper sterilization and preparation of instruments and equipment. All oral standards of care must be performed at an advanced competency level. Daily assignments subject to change at the discretion of Program Officers and/or Clinical Services leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. Works Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm at the Shadow Lane Campus. Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience in a dental practice using four-handed techniques in a wide range of procedures, collecting and recording patient's medical information, exposing, processing, mounting and labeling radiographs, and applying dental sterile techniques and infectious control and exposure procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education, successful completion of a recognized one-year dental assistant training program, and one year of experience working with the public collecting and recording information and/or explaining and clarifying basic information; OR one year of experience as a Dental Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Salary:
Grade 25 Step 1, salary $44,328.24. In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 284.170, initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade. A "Step" refers to the specific rate of pay within a grade, as determined by the Division of Human Resources.
