General Description
Serves as the primary customer service contact for all visitors, residents, business owners, and staff engaging with City Hall. Cheerfully greets and provides a welcoming initial experience while providing information, directions, and answering inquiries. Under the supervision of the City Clerk or designee, performs assigned routine clerical and basic administrative support to staff and exercises discretion handling various public records.
Essential Job Functions
Perform central reception functions such as answering the phone, routing calls, assisting with routine questions from residents, visitors, and staff, and answering and forwarding emails.
Support the City Clerk with meetings setup; as well as providing support and assistance to the City's various boards and committees.
Provides guidance for navigating the City's website and various online portals available to members of the community.
Responsible for sending, receiving, sorting, and distributing postal mail, packages.
Perform a variety of cashiering transactions and registrations for multiple City programs, services, and classes for several departments.
Assist with logistics and coordination of recurring meetings such as securing meeting space, agenda preparation and distribution, and corresponding with meeting participants.
Type, process, proofread, copy, file, and scan various routine documents, forms, memos, correspondence, brochures, flyers, and handouts as assigned.
Actively support and uphold the City of Treasure Island's mission, vision, and values.

Minimum Qualifications, Licenses and Certifications
Must be eighteen years of age or older; and
High school graduation or completion of GED; and
At least one (1) year of administrative/clerical and cash handling/cashiering experience in a fast-paced environment; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and Environmental Conditions Ability to interact with others enthusiastically, tactfully, and courteously while providing outstanding customer service.
Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions, to stay on task, and adhere to identified priorities.
Must be punctual, reliable, and dependable; able to consistently arrive and comply with the assigned work schedule.
Ability to recognize when assistance is needed to diffuse or deescalate a difficult situation.
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and providing accurate deliverables in an environment with frequent interruptions.
Proficient with and able to operate all standard office equipment (phones, copier, scanner, computers, electronic devices, etc.).
Proficient with and able to navigate all standard office software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to learn, retain, and disseminate a broad knowledge of general City information, programs, and services; or ability to initiate and conduct independent research.
Ability to identify any potential emerging issue or trend to escalate to supervisor as well as the ability to identify an emergency to be able to react accordingly.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS Florida Notary Public preferred; or ability to obtain within one month ofhire.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors in a central lobby location in a distraction heavy environment with noise and frequent interruptions. Expect most of the working hours to be spent at the front desk.
