The Meal Plan Office is seeking a friendly and engaging customer service representative to function as the initial point of contact for students and parents calling and visiting the Meal Plan office. The customer service representative will be responding to customer inquiries via telephone, email, and in-person to provide resolutions. The customer service representative will monitor purchases, inventory, and customer activities as well as take cash, credit, or other payment to pay for goods and services, the meal plans. The customer service representative will process and record payments appropriately. They will answer questions about and open new meal plan accounts as well as process deposits for existing meal plans. The customer service representative creates 50/50 cards for Arizona Student Unions employees and inputs new card information into the meal plans system. The customer service representative will also answer emails, support the accounting team through auditing accounts, process other paperwork and complete other tasks as needed. The position is in-person at the Student Unions in the meal plan office.

Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service, Education and Outreach: Serve as a subject matter expert for all things Meal Plans, including the mechanics of each type of plan and the landscape of the Arizona Student Unions dining experience. Participate in marketing and promotional events as needed. Ensure a top-notch customer experience by adhering to customer-centric service standards. Provide information and support to students, parents, and staff with questions or concerns about Meal Plans. Process transactions requested in-person, via email or on the phone. Payment Handling: Receive, verify, and process cash, credit card, check, or other payments from customers, employees, and other parties, issue receipts and record transactions. Handle payments from customers purchasing meal plans. Ensure correct billing and application of plans to customer accounts. Administrative: Assist professional staff with assigned projects or programs (create databases, data entry, typing, filing, copying, faxing, phone calls, assembly of packets, prepare mailings). Complete daily open/close office procedure. Process orders for materials or merchandise, and track orders from placement to delivery. Additional duties as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Skill in public speaking and presenting information to large groups. Ability to manage complex customer situations with tact and discretion. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work well as part of a team. Physical Requirements: Ability to occasionally transport/move a minimum of 25 pounds and maximum of 50 pounds. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Preferred Qualifications Availability to work evenings and weekends.
