Responsibilities:
Ability to understand basic cooking terms and practices and adhere to kitchen regulations and sanitation practices (Serv Safe a plus!)
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and specials diet orders.
Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
Review care plans to assure that current dietary information is consistent with foods served.
Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Prior industrial/commercial kitchen/cook experience
Able to read, write and understand English
Dependable, adaptable to change and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Accurate and organized
Full-Time 37.5 hours/week (including alternate Saturdays and Sundays)
Able to work overtime or flexible shifts when needed.
Compensation:
Rate will be commensurate with experience.
