Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes. Job Duties/Responsibiities: Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies. Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery. Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food. Qualifications
One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.
